Mullana: The Department of Chemistry of Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), under MM Engineering College (MMEC), celebrated National Science Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and academic fervor. The event was organized around the theme “Science for Human Welfare,” aiming to highlight the vital role of science in improving the quality of human life.

The programme began with a Poster Presentation Competition, where students from B.Sc., M.Sc., and research programmes actively participated. The participants presented innovative ideas on significant topics such as green chemistry, pharmaceutical development, and sustainable development. The posters reflected students’ scientific thinking, creativity, and research orientation.

This was followed by an engaging Science Quiz Competition, which tested the participants’ scientific knowledge, analytical abilities, and logical reasoning. The quiz created an atmosphere of healthy competition and further encouraged curiosity and interest in scientific learning among the students.

The highlight of the event was an expert lecture by Dr. Ramnik Sharma, Director of Pursued and Parnetra Pharmaceutical Company. In his address, he elaborated on the crucial role of chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry and shared insights about emerging opportunities in research and innovation. He also motivated students to pursue scientific research and explore new avenues in the field of chemistry.
