Greater Noida (Political Desk): The Congress-led Karnataka government has given 4 per cent reservation in tenders for Muslim contractors. The Karnataka cabinet has approved an amendment to the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement (KTPP) Act for this reservation.
However, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has backed the government’s decision and said “The 4 per cent quota is not only for Muslims, but for all minorities and backward classes.”
AICC spokesman Abhishiek Manu Singhvi also backed the chief minister Siddaramaiah’s decision and challenged the BJP to ‘go to the court’. He said “if the BJP or anybody have a problem with it, they can go to the court.”
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticised this decision. Addressing to media, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “Till now it was only considered as reservation in jobs, now reservation is being done in government contracts as well. This shows what kind of thinking the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi have. The way the Congress Party is setting a new standard every day in the politics of vote bank and appeasement, it is a threat to the country.”

अभी तक सिर्फ नौकरी तक समझते थे, अब सरकारी ठेकों में भी रिजर्वेशन हो रहा है। इससे पता चलता है कि कांग्रेस पार्टी और राहुल गांधी की सोच कैसी है।
