New Delhi (Nilesh Tiwari): The SA20 commissioner Graeme Smith said they could only learn from the IPL as he promised to make it the second-best league in the world. He, however, acknowledged that the IPL was still the best franchise cricket league.
“BCCI and IPL have been great in giving us support and guiding us on all decisions we have taken. IPL is miles ahead of the rest in franchise cricket and we can only learn from them,” said Smith while giving an exclusive interview to PTI Bhasha in Johannesburg.
IPL veteran Dinesh Karthik marked history this season playing for the Paarl Royals, who suffered a second qualifier defeat at the hands of two-time champion Sunrisers Eastern Cape in Centurion on Thursday. He was the first Indian player to feature in the SA20.
Smith responded by saying that though they would be happy to see more Indian players in the near future if they are available nothing of that nature is planned in the near future.
