New Delhi (Staff Correspondent), November 27: During the first Test match against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth, Jasprit Bumrah claimed eight wickets, including a fifer. Virat Kohli shot up nine spots to 13th in the hitters’ rankings after his 81st international century.
Bumrah defeated Josh Hazlewood of Australia and Kagiso Rabada of South Africa. With 883 rating points, the Indian pace bowling leader is at the top. Nathan Lyon, Pat Cummins, and Ravindra Jadeja slipped to eighth, seventh, and sixth place, respectively. Left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka jumped two places to fifth place while Ravichandran Ashwin, who missed the Perth Test, jumped one place to fourth.
After regaining his best form in red-ball cricket on Australian soil, Kohli moved up nine places to 13th position. It was also Kohli’s 30th Test century. Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant stayed at his sixth position.
Despite the fact that they did not feature in the first Test against Australia in Perth, India’s spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin became the two top-ranked all-rounders in Tests.
