New Delhi (Defence Desk), November 27: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Wednesday honoured four #Veterans with the ‘Veterans Achievers Award’ during the Colours #Nishan Presentation Ceremony at #Ahilyanagar, in #Maharashtra.

Indian Army informed on social media website X, “Colonel Samaresh Chakraborty (Retd), is a distinguished Veteran of the 1971 Indo-Pak War. He supports Veterans with pension claims and focuses on skilling Veterans and motivating the younger generation through guidance programs for the National Defence Academy #NDA, Combined Defence Services and Services Selection Board #SSB.

Indian Army wrote, “Lieutenant Colonel Dahiya (Retd) is a distinguished veteran of the 1971 Indo-Pak War. As the Officer in Charge of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, #ECHS, he was instrumental in setting up internal procedures and liaising with empanelled hospitals to ensure excellence in patient care. Additionally, he provides free legal services to both serving members and Veterans.

The army further wrote, “Subedar Major (Honorary Lieutenant) Jaiwant Kisan Katke (Retd) is a Veteran renowned for his dedication to disaster relief and community welfare in the Ahilyanagar region. He has provided essential medical and legal assistance to countless individuals, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to the values of service and compassion. His indelible legacy reflects his humanity and unwavering dedication to helping those in need.”

“Risaldar Major (Clerk Staff Duties) Lokhande Appasaheb Vishwanath (Retd), post-retirement, was employed as a Village Level #Entrepreneur under Project #Naman, where he consistently demonstrated dedication and commitment to serving the community. His work primarily involved assisting #Veterans, #VeerNaris, and #Widows in navigating the online application process for various state welfare schemes,” the army added.
