Healthy Q2 Numbers Result of Collective Efforts of Workers, Management Guidance: CBOA Officials

New Delhi: The double digit growth reported by Canara Bank in net profit is the result of effort of each ‘Canpal’ and guidance of seniors, CBOA officials Ravi Kumar and Dhananjay Singh said reacting to the lender’s performance in July-September quarter of ongoing 2024-25 fiscal.

While Kumar is the General Secretary of Canara Bank Officers’ Association (CBOA), Singh holds the post of Senior Vice President in the body which works for the interest of the bank workers.

The Bengaluru-based lender has earned a net profit of Rs 4,015 crore in the second quarter ended September 2024, posting a double digit growth of 11 per cent Rs 3,606 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

The bank also increased its income to Rs 34,721 crore during the quarter from Rs 31,472 crore in the same quarter last year. Income from interest was at Rs 29,740 crore during the quarter, higher than Rs 26,838 crore in the same period a year ago.

“All this is the result of the efforts of our workers under the guidance of our seniors. Our share prices were bolstered again after the announcement of financial results. Our brand value and broad-based acceptance among our multiple stakeholders are clearly evident,” CBOA General Secretary Ravi Kumar said speaking to national media.

“I congratulate our beloved MD & CEO, Shri K Satyanarayana Raju ji, whose guidance and vision are instrumental in achieving greatness for our Mother Bank. Under his guidance, our Mother Bank is moving swiftly towards the zenith of glory,” he said.

Speaking to national team of Bharat Neeti, Association’s Senior Vice President Dhananjay Singh said “Canara Bank is having a history of profitability in 117 years out of 118 years of existence. Bank is a known and reputed brand name of country for its excellent customer service with a family culture.”

Singh, who is also the Vice president of All India Bank Officers Confederation, said serving the downtrodden of the society along with maintaining the profitability and asset quality is a unique quality of Canara Bank and all Canarites.

Bank is continuously striving hard for serving the countrymen with high standards.
Canara Bank is among the top four public lending institutions in the country. Its MD and CEO Raju has set a target to recover about Rs 6,000 crore from bad loans during the second half of the current fiscal.
