New Delhi. Zoom Video Communications on March 18 introduced new AI features across its suite of products that will become a part of cutting-edge tools for consumers and enterprises. These include Zoom Meetings, Zoom Team Chat, Zoom Docs, Zoom Phone, Zoom Whiteboard, Zoom Contact Center, and other key services. These new features are aimed at making productivity and collaboration more effective in the workplace. Zoom announced updating its AI Companion with new agentic AI capabilities, allowing it to automatically complete a number of tasks for users. Now, the AI Companion will be able to perform calendar management, clip creation, writing assistance, and other tasks. It will grow from a personal assistant to an empowered agent that takes actions on behalf of users.
“AI Companion is evolving from a personal assistant to becoming truly agentic, which is a sign of how AI can enhance productivity and collaboration in the workplace,” said Smita Hashim, Chief Product Officer, Zoom.
AI Agents in Zoom Business Services
Zoom has also expanded the reach of AI agents in its business services to help businesses maximize profits. The company said that *Zoom Revenue Accelerator* users will be able to benefit from a special agent in the coming months, who will help increase revenue through automated information, personalized outreach, and improved prospecting. The feature is designed to make businesses more effective in their sales campaigns.
Open Platform and Custom AI Agents
Zoom also revealed an “open platform” that will allow users to add third-party agents, such as ServiceNow AI agents. Users can create their own custom AI agents for their specific needs, such as streamlining sales RFPs or IT and HR service requests. The company has also introduced special AI agents as part of its Zoom Contact Center service, which will provide customer service support. It is designed to make interactions with customers more seamless and efficient.
Other AI Features
Some of the other features offered under Zoom’s AI Companion include custom AI avatars, access to in-house developed small language models (SLM), real-time summaries during meetings or phone calls, internal and external information search capabilities. These features will help users manage meetings and communications in a more organized and effective way.
Industry-specific AI solutions
Zoom has introduced its AI solutions in an industry-specific manner, catering to workplace needs across various sectors:
- Zoom Workplace for Frontline Workers: It streamlines on-shift communication and task management.
- Zoom Workplace for Clinicians: It automatically prepares clinical notes and conducts virtual Zoom telehealth appointments.
- Zoom Workplace for Education: It provides AI-generated lecture summaries and support materials that teachers can use to prepare assignments.
