Famous wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress on Thursday. Both Olympians alleged sexual assault and intimidation by former Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh last year.
Bajrang Punia said that they had written a letter to the women MPs of BJP against the injustice being done to women wrestlers, but no one stood with them. But Congress stood with them at every turn.
