Bengaluru, famous as the startup capital of India, has once again become the talk of the town for its unique and funny developments. This time, what caught the city’s attention was a warning note given by a cab driver to his passenger, which soon went viral. In this note, the driver has clearly warned passengers, especially couples, to “keep calm” and maintain distance from each other. The message read: “WARNING!! No romance. This is a cab, not your personal space or OYO, so please maintain distance and keep calm.” This candid and funny message created a stir on social media and caused laughter on the internet.
Reactions on Internet
One user said, “Mr. Driver has seen something and he doesn’t want to see them again.” While another wrote, “I completely understand his point of view though. In a closed environment like a car, PDA or kissing, it’s not like kissing behind bushes in a park or any other place. You are essentially forcing him to see what you are doing. And that doesn’t seem very ‘consensual’-ful to me, he has the right not to participate in it, even if they are his ‘clients’.”
Sympathy for the cab driver’s situation
Some users sympathized with the driver’s point of view, like another user wrote, “I feel sorry for the drivers. Have heard of some couples kissing or masturbating in cabs, I’m sure it makes them feel uncomfortable, I understand people are horny, but at least wait till you reach home or hotel.” Another user quipped, “Drivers in Bengaluru have witnessed things that will make you think twice about romantic plans in a cab. It’s a whole different level of urban life!”
