WASHINGTON. Less than 24 hours after Mark Zuckerberg went viral for staring at Jeff Bezos’ fiancee Lauren Sanchez during Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, keen social media users have made interesting discoveries about the Meta CEO’s digital footprint. The tech billionaire was reportedly caught liking a racy photo of Ms Sanchez on Meta-owned social media platform Instagram, following which internet users started trolling him online. Soon after the swearing-in ceremony, Ms Sanchez attended the Starlight Ball – one of the three post-swearing-in events, wearing a peach-coloured Dolce & Gabbana gown. Following this, she posted a few photos from the event, highlighting her outfit in front of her over 840,000 followers.

Different comments on the post

While the post garnered thousands of likes and comments in no time, it was Mr Zuckerberg’s name in the Like column that caught the most attention. “Zuck is making likes private,” said one user, while another wrote: “That’s why he never enabled community notes on Facebook and Insta.” A third commented: “No, he’s reminding you all that he invented the Like button to be ‘friendly’ with people, not to ‘flirt’ with them. But some of you insecure people just can’t get it through your heads.”

The Controversy

Ms Sanchez was in the news after she attended the 47th president’s swearing-in ceremony, wearing a revealing, lingerie-inspired bustier and a form-fitting white blazer. While some questioned his dressing choice for the formal and historic event, it was Mr Zuckerberg who made headlines after an ill-timed photo and later a video of him looking at Ms Sanchez went viral. Zuckerberg was sitting next to Ms Sanchez when he is alleged to have caught a glimpse of her cleavage, leading to a series of memes and humorous posts on social media.
