Greater Noida (National Desk): To make Mother’s Day 2025 special, Kuno National Park (KNP) in Madhya Pradesh has released a very emotional video. In this video, cheetah mothers of the park are seen taking care of their little cubs, which is touching the hearts of the audience.Seven cheetah cubs were recently born in the park, marking a notable rise in India’s cheetah population.
The video highlights two South African cheetah mothers, Nirva and Veera, who were relocated to India as part of Project Cheetah. This project is an ambitious initiative to reintroduce cheetahs, which became extinct in India in 1952, which was launched in 2022.
Nirva gave birth to five cubs on April 28, taking the total number of cheetahs in Kuno Park to 29 and 31 across India. Earlier, Veera gave birth to two healthy cubs on April 17. Both mothers have strengthened the project by successfully giving birth to new lives despite challenges like adverse conditions and cub mortality.
A unique form of motherhood seen in the video
The video shows Veera resting under the shade of a tree with her two three-month-old cubs. She looks extremely calm, but her vigilant eyes show that she is alert to every danger – this is a proof of her maternal instinct. At the same time, Nirvawas seen behaving very carefully with her five newborn cubs. Two other famous mothers of the park – Jwala and Asha – also became a part of the video. Jwala is teaching important life skills to her four 15-month-old cubs, while Asha was seen teaching her three 16-month-old cubs the tricks of survival in the forest.
Sharing this video on social media, the park administration wrote in the caption, “For the mother who gives without asking, always keeps us safe, and loves us no matter what – Happy Mother’s Day! Tag the mother who gives you strength every day.”
