The 292-metre-long vessel arrived from Hay Point, Australia, carrying 152,702 metric tonnes of coking coal. The successful berthing marks a significant enhancement in PPA’s capability to handle large, deep-draft vessels.
PPA Chairperson Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, congratulated Team PPA and Team JPPL for the landmark achievement, describing it as an important step forward in the port’s operational capabilities.

“Measuring 292 metres, with a 16.5-metre draft and carrying 152,702 MT of cargo, the vessel makes this a milestone to remember. Under the leadership of our Chairman, MP Naveen Jindal, we remain committed to strengthening India’s maritime infrastructure,” Jindal Steel added.
