Mumbai: Clean energy major Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORSL) has officially formalized its empanelment as the ‘Execution Partner’ with Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and the two will jointly develop Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects across India.
The formalization was marked by the exchange of the non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the India Energy Week (IEW) 2026, held in Goa on January 28, 2026. The MoU exchange and empanelment ceremony took place in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) and leadership of Indraprastha Gas Limited.
The ceremony was attended by Praveen Mal Khanooja, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), Kamal Kishore Chatiwal, Managing Director, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), Mohit Bhatia, Director – Commercial, IGL, and other senior executives, delegates and representatives from national oil companies and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
Strategic Significance & Next Phase of Collaboration
The formal empanelment and MoU exchange provide ORSL with a strong institutional framework to actively originate, structure and execute CBG projects in collaboration with IGL. This strategic partnership is expected to significantly strengthen ORSL’s national project pipeline and accelerate project development across multiple feedstocks and geographies.
ORSL is currently engaging with project sponsors and stakeholders to advance a portfolio of near- term opportunities. Project prioritization is being undertaken based on key commercial and execution parameters, including feedstock security, land and infrastructure readiness, and overall project viability, with the objective of fast-tracking projects from development to implementation.
