Greater Noida (National Desk): Madhya Pradesh’s Indore and Rajasthan’s Udaipur have become the first two Indian cities to join the global list of accredited wetland cities under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.
Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav took to social media and wrote that Madhya Pradesh and Udaipur in Rajasthan have joined the list of 31 Wetland Accredited Cities in the world – a testimony to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of marching ahead aligning economy and ecology.
Bhupender Yadav further wrote, “The achievement reflects the emphasis laid by India on holistic development of our urban areas without compromising on ecological conservation in both urban and rural centres. Congratulations, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan on this unique achievement! Let us pledge to make Viksit Bharat a Green Bharat.”

PM Modi also congratulated people of both states and wrote on X, “Congratulations to Indore and Udaipur!
