A shocking incident has come to light from Cape Girardeau in the state of Missouri, where the road cracked due to the intense heat and it suddenly burst. The result was that a speeding car flew in the air. This entire incident was captured on camera and its video is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
The video of this incident was recorded by local citizen Albert Blackwell, in which the road of Siemers Drive is seen suddenly rising. It can be seen in the video that the car was moving at a normal speed, but as soon as it reached that part, the road surface rose about 18 inches and the car suddenly jumped and went into the air for a few seconds.
Driver narrowly escaped, no injury
Despite the possibility of a major accident, it was a matter of relief that the driver of the car did not suffer any serious injury. The Cape Girardeau Police Department confirmed that the driver is completely safe. This accident could have proved fatal if it had happened at a little higher speed. Albert Blackwell told USA Today, “When I returned to take footage from the front angle of the cars, the road surface suddenly rose up and the car went into the air. This scene was extremely shocking.”

Administration’s response and warning
After this incident, the Cape Girardeau administration issued an official statement warning people to avoid that area. The administration said, “Both Broadway and Seymours areas have been affected by this heat wave. Our team has done immediate temporary repairs, but full repairs will be done soon.” The statement further said, “We appeal to the citizens to drive carefully and take care of the workers doing repair work on the roads. Our priority is your safety.”
