The team India will be announced for the 2025 Champions Trophy on Saturday, January 18. In the afternoon, India captain Rohit Sharma and senior selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar will address the media in a press conference to announce the team for the Champions Trophy and ODI series against England.
Interestingly, three venues in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates will host the Champions Trophy from February 19 to March 9. Before that, India will also face England in a three-match ODI series, which will serve as preparation for the Champions Trophy.

However, it will be determined by his fitness whether he can participate in the event or not. Bumrah will thus play in the ODI series against England, which starts on February 6, to prove his fitness.
The bowler Jasprit Bumrah had a back spasm during the just concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy. On the second day of the Sydney Test, he was in discomfort and had to leave the field midway through the game. He then had scans.
The BCCI did not publicly disclose the entire degree of Bumrah’s injury, but he was not able to bowl for the match’s last two days, which India lost by six wickets.
According to sources, the selectors are keenly waiting to see how Bumrah performs in at least one competitive match before the Champions Trophy in order to assess his fitness and make the final selection. This means Bumrah will be there for the ODI series against England.
Reports few days back have mentioned that Bumrah is to be sidelined for a long injury layoff and has been told to stay fully bedridden following his horrific accident. Following the reports, Bumrah later called them fake news and entirely discredited them.
