New Delhi: The sun was about to set from the horizon, and a photographer was standing on the side of the road. He saw an elderly couple sitting on a bicycle cart. The elderly man was riding the bicycle wearing ordinary clothes, while his wife was sitting behind and holding a large bag. The scene was ordinary, but the happiness on both their faces was giving the feeling of a special moment.
The experience of getting photographed for the first time
The photographer asked the couple, “Would you like to have your picture taken?” On hearing this, childlike curiosity started appearing on both their faces. They said in one voice, “Yes, yes.” The photographer suggested them to stand under a small tree nearby, where there was greenery. The couple parked their cart on the side and got ready to get the picture taken.
Worry about dirty clothes
As the photographer fixed the hair of the elderly man, the woman looked at her clothes and said hesitantly, “Our clothes are dirty.” Hearing this, the photographer encouraged them and signaled the two to pose together. The woman was looking at the camera with a shy smile and there was the same happiness and satisfaction in her eyes that cannot be contained in words.

Feeling of years spent with each other
The photographer captured them in different poses. In one pose, both were looking deep into each other’s eyes, as if they were lost in the memories of the years they spent together. When the photographer came to know that the couple travels for three hours in one direction every day and travels the same way back in the evening, he thought that the couple is happy in those little moments of life that we often ignore. While waiting for the pictures to be printed, the photographer took out cups of ice cream from his bag and gave it to the couple. “You guys have some sweets till then,” he said. When the pictures were ready, he handed them over. Both of them were delighted to see their pictures in print for the first time. The woman touched her picture and said with a smile, “Kabhi Nahi khone waai thi.”
A memory for the kids
When the woman was asked when was the last time she got her picture taken, she lightly replied, “Never.” The woman extended her picture towards her husband and said, “Someday, when we are no more, our children will look at this picture and say – these were our parents.” This line left a deep emotional mark. When they were done admiring their pictures, the couple respectfully thanked the photographer and saved the pictures in their bags. Then, they went cycling, but they also had a memorable moment with them – a picture that will be cherished like the precious moments of their life.

The photographer captured this moment in his video, which went viral on social media.
