New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) played key role in achieving First Criticality of indigenously designed 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) at Kalpakkam. It is a historic achievement of India’s civil nuclear journey.
BHEL was a key partner in this landmark achievement. It said, “On the Primary Reactor Side, BHEL has contributed through the manufacturing, supply and fabrication of the Inner Vessel and Thermal Baffle and technology development of the Steam Generator-Evaporator, Inner and Main Vessel.”
BHEL further said, “On the secondary side, #BHEL has supplied and erected the 500 MWe Main Plant Turbine Generator Package built on indigenous technology. These landmark achievements reinforce BHEL’s role as a key partner in the Nation’s Nuclear Journey towards long term energy security and the vision of an #Aatmanirbhar and #viksitbharat.”
