New Delhi (Nilesh Tiwari), December 01: Starting on December 11, Zimbabwe will host Afghanistan for a three-match T20I International series, followed by three One-Day Internationals.
Following his recovery from a right phalanx sprain, Afghanistan’s top spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman made his international debut when the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) revealed their T20I and ODI teams for the next tour to Zimbabwe.
In addition to Mujeeb, Zubaid Akbari, a young, gifted top-order batsman, was called up for the T20I series. One of the most impressive players in domestic cricket, Akbari was a deadly hitter in the Emerging Asia Cup. After receiving recognition for his domestic performance, Darwish Rasooli, the team’s captain, has returned to the T20I lineup.
Ahmad Shah, ACB Interim Chief Selector, stated, “Seeing our frontline spinner, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, recover from his injury and be available for selection is a great feeling.” “He is an essential member of our squad, and we hope he continues to shine brightly for Afghanistan.”Furthermore, Darwish Rasooli and Zubaid Akbari have been reliable players in both domestic cricket and the just finished ACC Emerging Teams Cup, in which Afghanistan won.
