The West Indies recovered to win their first Test match on Pakistani soil in 1990 on the potholes of Multan. Pakistan was bowled out for 154 and 133 in the first and second innings, respectively, as a result of their preparation of spin-friendly wickets to improve their home record.
The second Test took seven sessions to conclude as Pakistan fell to a 120-run loss, though Noman Ali took 10 wickets and claimed a spectacular hat-trick. The series was shared with two tests each.
Pakistan under Shan Masood reached a new low and ended up at the bottom in the WTC 2023–25 standings. They won the ninth Test victory out of 14 Test matches.
At the end, their victory percentage remained at 27.98. This was the third victory for the West Indies, within the current cycle, in the last 13 Test matches. Their winning percentage is 28.21.
Pakistan closed day 2 play at 76/4. West Indies continued their strike on the third day. With the third ball of the day, Saud Shakeel was dismissed by Kevin Sinclair. In the very next over, Kashif Ali was overthrown by Jomel Warrican. Agha Salman and Muhammad Rizwan tried to revive the run chase.
Warrican trapped Agha in front of the stumps, which ended their brief retaliation. From 33 balls, he made 15 runs. Rizwan then accompanied him to the dressing room. The Warrican breached Rizwan’s fortifications. From 62 balls, the wicketkeeper-batter scored 25 runs.
Noman finally decided to go for a long battle till the end after hitting a six off Gudakesh Motie. He, however, got out the next ball. Warrican then dismissed Sajid Khan to wrap up the innings.
Pakistan was bowled out for 133 in 44 overs. Warrican took five wickets in 16 overs and conceded 27 runs. Babar Azam scored 31 runs off 67 balls, the most by any batsman in the innings.
