Mumbai: Patel Engineering Limited expresses its deepest condolences on the tragic loss of lives following the incident at the Teesta Stage VI Hydroelectric Project in Sikkim.
The bodies of all 25 personnel trapped inside the tunnel have been retrieved. The rescue operation was carried out through the coordinated efforts of the Sikkim District Administration, Sikkim Police, Sikkim government hospitals and paramedical staff, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), State Authorities, Eastern Coalfields Limited, Western Coalfields Limited, NHPC team, Patel Engineering’s project team and other emergency response agencies. Patel Engineering expresses its sincere gratitude to its employees and all the agencies involved for their unwavering commitment, tireless efforts, and close coordination throughout the rescue operation under extremely challenging conditions.
As an immediate measure of support, Patel Engineering Limited will provide ex-gratia assistance of ₹5 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased in this unfortunate incident. Patel Engineering stands in solidarity with the bereaved families during this period of immense sorrow and remains committed to extending all necessary assistance and support to them.
