Mumbai. Actor Saif Ali Khan suffered a serious spinal injury and some minor injuries when an unknown man broke into his house and stabbed him multiple times when the actor grappled with him.
According to Mumbai Police, the incident took place around 2:30 am on Thursday when the intruder was arguing with the actor’s maid. When Saif Ali Khan tried to intervene and calm the situation, the unknown man got aggressive and attacked Saif Ali Khan with a knife. The actor was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for treatment. During the surgery, doctors removed a 2.5-inch piece of knife from his spine. The actor also suffered injuries on his neck and hand.
Saif is out of danger now
Recently, the actor’s team released another statement. According to doctors, the actor is now out of danger and is currently recovering. The statement said, “Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is now out of danger. He is currently recovering and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police are investigating the incident. We would like to thank Dr. Neeraj Utmani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Leena Jain and the team at Lilavati Hospital for their excellent care. Thank you to all his fans and well-wishers for their prayers and thoughts during this time.”
Kareena’s team also released a statement
Earlier today, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s teams released statements. The statement released by Kareena’s team said, “Last night there was an attempted theft at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s home. Saif has suffered an injury to his hand for which he is in the hospital and receiving treatment. The rest of the family members are fine. We request the media and fans to be patient and not make any further speculations, as the police are already conducting their own investigation. Thank you all for your concern.”
CCTV footage shows attacker’s face
Less than 24 hours after Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times at his Bandra apartment, a CCTV image has emerged showing the attacker running down the stairs after the incident. The attacker, who stabbed Saif Ali Khan at his 12th-floor apartment in Bandra in the wee hours of Thursday, is seen on the sixth-floor staircase in the CCTV footage.
