Pakistan vs England 2nd Test Day 3 Highlights:
Pakistan restricts England to 36/2 on Day 3, Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali hit back early in pursuit of a 297-run target set by Pakistan in their second innings of the ongoing second Test against England at Multan. Pakistan took a lead of 296 runs after setting this target, thanks to Salman Agha’s 63 in their second innings. Agha and tail-ender Sajid Khan added 65 for the ninth wicket, however, before Pakistan’s innings ended at 221 in the final session. Having gained an important 75-run first-innings lead as England was dismissed for 291, Pakistan now looks to equalise the series after losing the first Test by an innings also at Multan.
With a sparkle in his eye and a twirl of his moustache, Sajid Khan played a key role in guiding Pakistan to victory in the Multan rematch. After taking seven wickets in the first innings, he contributed crucial runs from the lower order, setting England a daunting target of 297 runs to win the second Test. Sajid quickly made his mark by dismissing Ben Duckett, England’s centurion from day two, with just his third delivery, dealing a significant blow to England’s chances of a successful chase.
Sajid may seem like an ordinary off-spinner on paper and often gets overlooked during team selections. He even joked about being “the first to be kicked out” after taking four wickets for England on the second evening, helping his team gain the upper hand.
However, his shaved head, thick facial hair, and vibrant celebrations add a lot of personality to Pakistan’s effort to end a winless streak at home that has lasted since 2021.
