Sonipat: A student of OP Jindal Global University tried to sneak his girlfriend into the boys’ hostel by hiding her in a suitcase. But his bizarre plan failed when the security staff got suspicious and opened the trolley bag – a girl was found sitting inside. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media and people are reacting fiercely to it.
How did the incident come to light?
It is being told that this incident came to light only when the security guards asked the bag to stop, and due to some collision the girl inside screamed. After this the guards opened the trolley bag, in which a girl was found sitting in a strange manner. This video was allegedly recorded by another student and posted on social media. In the video, the security personnel are seen opening the bag, and from inside comes out a young woman who was sitting in a bent position.
What does the university administration say?
Although the video has gone viral and many people have raised serious questions on it, the university administration has said not to make much of it, calling the whole matter “just a prank”.
The university’s PRO said in a statement: “Our students were only playing pranks. Our security system is strong, that’s why they were caught. This is not a big incident and no complaint has been lodged.”
Who was the girl, it is not clear yet
In this entire incident, it is not yet clear whether the girl who was brought hidden in the bag was a student of the same university or an outsider. If she was an outsider, then it could be a serious case of violation of security rules.
Storm on social media
As soon as this video came online, there was a flood of reactions from people. While some people called it “creativity of engineering colleges”, many users called it a serious security lapse and “ignorance of hostel rules”. One user wrote, “What all do lovers have to do in this country? Sitting in a bag is a new trend now.” Another quipped: “He should get the Boyfriend of the Year award.” However, many also said that such acts can be more dangerous than a joke, as it is a breach of security standards.
What next in the case?
So far, the university administration has not announced any disciplinary action. Since no complaint has been filed, the matter will probably be “resolved internally”. Still, the incident has sparked a debate on security protocols, personal freedom and the rules of hostel life.
While the incident remains a subject of humour, it also raises serious questions about issues of security and discipline. It is difficult to decide whether this was just an innocent prank or a well-planned plan that could go wrong. But one thing is for sure — now security in hostels may become even more stringent, and bag checking will definitely increase. Such incidents sometimes make us laugh, but also force us to think.
