We always back whatever total we put up, and I reminded the team to fight till the end, regardless of the score. In T20, defending 125 isn’t ideal, but I’m proud of how we bowled. Varun Chakaravarthy’s five-wicket haul was remarkable, especially under pressure defending a low total. He’s worked hard, and it showed today. We are heading to Jo’burg with the series tied 1-1, and it promises to be exciting cricket
Aiden Markram | South Africa Captain:
I thought we bowled well today. The bowlers stuck to the plans, and I am proud of them. Our batting wasn’t great as we lost wickets in clusters, which made things tricky. Thankfully, my finger’s doing fine. Hats off to Coetzee and Stubbs, they came off a break and showed great hunger. To deliver such a performance against India is always satisfying. Leveling the series going into the Highveld is fantastic, even if it was not the way we ideally wanted to get over the line.
