What is the no-hands mobility test?
This is a functional fitness challenge that involves standing up from the ground without using your hands. It tests your core strength, lower body endurance, and balance. No external support is allowed in this exercise, making it extremely effective and challenging.
5 Amazing Benefits of This Exercise
1. Strengthens Core Muscles – During the no-hands mobility test, you have to rely on your abdominal and lower back strength. This improves core stability and improves your body control.
2. Improves Lower Body Strength – This exercise particularly activates your quads, glutes, and hamstrings. When you stand up without support, these muscles strengthen and increase body stability.
3. Improves Joint Mobility – Since this activity does not require the help of hands, it tests the flexibility of your knees, hips, and spine and gradually improves their mobility.
4. Identifies muscle imbalances – This test highlights if there is any weakness or muscle imbalance in any part of the body. This will help you to better direct your workout.
5. Promotes functional fitness – This exercise is not just for looking fit in the gym, but is also useful for improving coordination, balance and strength in everyday activities.
Shilpa Shetty recommends – Try it!
Shilpa has described this fitness challenge as “fun but tough” and has found it especially challenging for men. She has advised to include it in your regular practice, so that you can identify not only your strengths but also your limitations.
