New Delhi: SAEL Industries Ltd. (SAEL), a vertically integrated renewable energy (RE) company, commissioned a 1 GWp (800 MW) solar power plant at the world’s largest Renewable Energy Park in Khavda, Gujarat, through its subsidiaries SAEL Solar P4 Private Limited and SAEL Solar P5 Private Limited (400MW, 500MWp each).

The projects are backed by 25-year long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), ensuring revenue stability. The projects deploy over 15 lakhs TOPCon bifacial modules. Over 60% of the modules were assembled at SAEL’s solar manufacturing facilities located in Punjab and Rajasthan, in-line with the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Laxit Awla, CEO & Executive Director, SAEL Industries Ltd. said, “Khavda Renewable Energy Park is a vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji in his efforts to position India as a global RE powerhouse. Turning Gujarat’s terrain into a clean energy zone at scale will not only unlock development of large RE capacity but will also reduce reliance on conventional sources of power, generating green jobs and meeting India’s non-fossil fuel target by 2030. With the commissioning of our 1 GWp solar power plant in Gujarat, we are excited to be part of this journey. We are committed to supporting India’s solar ambition by deploying our technologies and continuing to add value in the clean energy ecosystem”.

Spanning almost 3,600 acres near India’s western frontier, these projects demonstrate SAEL’s project execution and engineering capacities in a challenging terrain with saline soil and seasonal flooding, where parts of the site remain under nearly a meter of water during peak rainy season.

The commissioning of SAEL Solar P4 Private Limited and SAEL Solar P5 Private Limited further strengthens SAEL’s expansion across India’s renewable energy value chain. In November 2025, YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority) allotted 200 acres for SAEL’s integrated 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW module facility, creating job opportunities and reducing solar import dependence.
