Greater Noida (National Desk): India celebrated its 76th Republic Day on Sunday. President Droupadi Murmu received the Chief Guest of 76th Republic Day President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia to showcase Bharat’s socio-economic, technological and military prowess as well as the richness and diversity of its culture. Following the beautiful tableaux highlighting India’s civilizational heritage and reflecting citizens’ aspirations, a spectacular performance of traditional folk and tribal artists and impressive flypast enthralled the invitees and viewers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this occasion strengthen his efforts towards preserving the ideals of Constitution and working towards a stronger and prosperous India. This day is remembered for adopting a written constitution in 1950.
On this occasion almost all the neighboring countries greeted India with good wishes and hope. Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli wrote on X, “On the occasion of 76th #RepublicDay of India, I extend my warmest congratulations to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi and the people of India. May the ideals of democracy and national unity flourish evermore, fostering deeper ties of friendship between our two nations.”
Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay wrote, “On behalf of the people of Bhutan, I wish the Government and people of India a joyous 76th Republic Day. May the spirit of unity and the vision that shaped your republic continue to drive remarkable achievements and inspire the world.”
Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu also expressed his gratitude and wrote, “On the joyous occasion of the Republic Day of #India, I convey my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to President Droupadi Murmu, PM Modi and the Government and people of India. Maldives will always cherish the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation we share with India, which is built on mutual trust, respect, and understanding that have withstood the test of time. I am committed to strengthening our strategic partnership to address common challenges and work for the mutual benefit of people of both our neighborly nations.”

Chinese Ambassador to India H.E. Xu Feihong wrote on X, “The Chinese Embassy in India congratulates all Indian friends on the #RepublicDay.”
The High Commission of India in Colombo wrote on X, “Celebrating #RepublicDay2025. Acting HC @DrSatyanjal unfurled the #Tiranga at India House this morning. Members of the Indian diaspora in Sri Lanka joined the festivities with their patriotic fervour and resolve to realise #ViksitBharat,”
However, it’s very difficult to find wishes from Pakistan on this occasion. There is no top level comment on that. The Indian High Commission in Islamabad invited Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi to participate in the 76th Republic Day function. Addressing to the gathering, Qureshi said that 2025 would prove to be the year of friendship between India and Pakistan.
He further said that It will be a year of restoration of public relations. Visa formalities should be simplified to visit shrines/religious places in both the neighbouring countries.
