Death Due to Van Collision
Arav Manikantha and Thoka Charan, from Gaigolupadu in Kakinada, had attended the pre-release event of Game Changer in Rajahmundry on Saturday night. While returning home, their bike was hit by a van, after which they were rushed to the hospital, but both succumbed to their injuries. Deeply saddened by the incident, producer Dil Raju announced ₹5 lakh assistance each for the families of the victims. Ram Charan, who plays the lead role in Game Changer, and his uncle, actor and Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who were both present at the event, also extended ₹10 lakh each to the families. Ram Charan expressed his condolences and sent his team to meet the families with additional support.
Appeal for Caution
Pawan Kalyan also posted about the incident on X (formerly Twitter), where he criticized the previous government for neglecting the ADB road on which the accident occurred. Expressing his condolences to the families, he also mentioned how they had been worried about such an incident happening at the event and had urged everyone to reach home safely. He added, “On behalf of the Janasena Party, we will provide ₹5 lakh financial assistance to the families of the deceased. I have instructed my office officials to ensure that adequate support is arranged by the government.”
Dil Raju Expresses Condolences
Dil Raju, speaking to the press on Monday, shared that Pawan Kalyan had doubts about conducting the event, as he did not want any unpleasant incidents to occur. He stated that both he and Ram Charan had convinced Pawan Kalyan to participate in the event. Although they had taken enough precautions during the program, the unfortunate incident afterward left them heartbroken. He said, “It’s unfortunate that such incidents happen during moments of joy; it is painful. I will support the families in every possible way, and I want to start by providing ₹5 lakh each to them. My heartfelt condolences to the families.” Game Changer is set to release in theaters on January 10.
