New Delhi. Recently, an ex user Amit Mantri shared his experience of ordering food from a “fake restaurant” on Zomato. Amit, who is a fund manager, told that he realized this when he accidentally selected a wrong restaurant. He blamed the spelling mistake in its name, which misled him. Amit posted this experience on his ex account and tagged Zomato, also telling that no solution was given to this problem by chat support.
Raised concern over fake restaurants
Amit Mantri targeted Zomato in his post and said that Zomato has a big problem with fake restaurants. Yesterday I ordered drinks from Keventers and later found out that I accidentally ordered from a cheap, substandard copy restaurant. With that, he also expressed concern about the impact such fake restaurants can have on small businesses, and how it can affect customer loyalty and tagged Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal and requested him to resolve the issue.
Followed Quick response
After Amit Mantri’s tweet, Zomato took immediate action and removed the restaurant from its platform. The company’s official customer service handle responded, “Thank you for flagging this. We actively monitor and remove copycat restaurants. We are in the process of constantly improving our detection systems.”
Priority to consumer satisfaction
Amit Mantri also shared a screenshot appreciating Zomato’s quick response, stating that the restaurant’s name was misleading and has been removed. The incident proved that companies can take immediate and effective steps to ensure consumer satisfaction and transparency.
