New Delhi: NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power utility, continues to deliver a strong operational performance in FY27 (upto July 2026), underscoring its pivotal role in strengthening India’s energy security and accelerating clean energy transition.
NTPC registered 15% month-on-month growth in electricity generation during July 2026 while the nation’s power consumption has grown by 11% during this period. This robust performance reflects NTPC’s commitment to reliably meeting the nation’s growing energy demand and powering India’s growth.
Meanwhile, the company also recorded strong operational growth across its operations on Year to Date basis.
- Power generation grown by 9.5%
- Coal production increased by 16%
- Coal dispatch increased by 17%
- Power Trading grown by 24%
As part of its diversified portfolio, NTPC currently operates more than 90 GW of installed capacity, with another 35+ GW under construction. The company has set a target to reach 149 GW of total capacity by 2032, including 60 GW from renewable energy sources. This includes a balanced mix of thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power plants, ensuring supply of reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity to the country.
Along with power generation, NTPC has ventured into various new business areas, including e-mobility, battery storage, pumped hydro storage, waste-to-energy, nuclear power, and green hydrogen solutions.
