Washington (Staff Correspondent): An extraordinary and miraculous incident occurred in Chile when Adrian Simancas, who was kayaking with his father, was swallowed by a humpback whale and spat out seconds later. The incident happened on Saturday near the San Isidro lighthouse in the Strait of Magellan in Chile’s southernmost Patagonia region.
Adrian Simancas’ fear
24-year-old Adrian Simancas described his fear during the incident and said that when the whale swallowed him, he felt like he was “going to die”. Adrian told CNN that when the whale swallowed him and pulled him into the water, he was confused and felt there was no chance to do anything. “When I was inside the whale’s mouth and looking at the deep blue and white, I felt sticky goo on his face before he was pulled under the water. At that moment I felt like I couldn’t do anything and I was going to die,” he said.
Life jacket works
However, Adrian soon realized that his life jacket was pulling him back up. A few seconds later, he came above the water and began to understand the situation. He said that when he came above the water, he realized that he still had a chance to stay alive and he got over the fear.
Father’s patience and concern
When Adrian came back above the water, his father Dale tried to calm him down. Dale heard his son say, “Be calm, be calm.” However, Adrian was also worried about his father. He was afraid that something might happen to his father, or that he would not be able to reach the shore in time, or that he might get hypothermia.
Safe return of father and son
However, after this miraculous incident, both father and son managed to reach the shore safely. It was a unique and terrifying experience, but ultimately both of them survived and were safe. This incident shows the amazing nature and unusual aspects of life, which sometimes challenge human life, but at the same time also reminds us how difficult situations can be overcome with human courage and support of each other.
