Dadri: IntelliSmart Infra has set up a Centre of Excellence for Smart Metering in Dadri to train youth in the installation and configuration of Distribution Transformer (DT) meters.
The training centre, described as the first of its kind, will provide job-ready skills free of cost. DT meters play an important role in improving grid intelligence and operational efficiency.
Under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), India plans to install 25 crore smart meters in the next 24 months. So far, about 3.15 crore meters, including DT, feeder and consumer meters, have been installed. Experts say a trained workforce is needed to speed up DT meter deployment.
The Centre of Excellence was inaugurated by Sanjay Jain, Chief Engineer of Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL), Noida, and Anil Rawal, Managing Director and CEO of IntelliSmart Infrastructure.
