Greater Noida (Defence Desk): The Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to transfer technical expertise from the Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL) to the 509 Army Base Workshop.
The Indian Army informed on social media website X, “A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the #IndianArmy and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to facilitate the transfer of technical expertise from the Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL) to the 509 Army Base Workshop. This collaboration aims to advance the production of 0.5 Watt Sterling Cryocoolers, an essential component in the thermal imaging devices used by the Indian Army.”
The Army further added, “This groundbreaking MoU will not only enhance the Indian Army’s indigenous manufacturing capabilities but also reduce dependence on imports. It signifies a major step toward strengthening domestic technological innovation and will yield substantial cost savings in defence production.”
