Greater Noida (National Desk): India-Japan discussed on the maritime security in the 7th India-Japan Maritime Affairs Dialogue held in Tokyo on Wednesday.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed in a press release, “The Indian delegation was led by Muanpuii Saiawi, Joint Secretary (Disarmament & International Security Affairs), Ministry of External Affairs and the Japan delegation by KASHIWABARA Yutaka, Deputy Director-General/ Deputy Assistant Minister, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau.”
MEA further said, “The two sides conferred on ways to sustain a secure maritime environment conducive for inclusive growth and global well being. They reviewed ongoing cooperation initiatives in the maritime domain and avenues of reinforcing international and regional mechanisms for comprehensive maritime security. They agreed to strengthen their shared efforts in areas such as Maritime domain awareness, countering Illicit Maritime Activities (IMA), capability development and capacity building activities.”
Both sides were also agreed to hold the next round of the Dialogue on a mutually convenient date.
