New Delhi: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected India’s growth rate to 7 percent in the financial year 2027 (FY27), which is the highest among the developed and developing countries in the world. In its October World Economic Outlook (WEO) release, IMF says even after global economic disruptions, India has maintained its higher economic growth rate with the hep of domestic demands.

IMF says,”The global economy remains resilient, but that resilience is becoming more fragile and more uneven. Growth is projected at 3.1% in 2026 and 3.4% in 2027, while inflation is expected to reach 4.7%, driven largely by higher energy and food prices.”

BJP’s National General Secretary Smriti Z Irani writes on social media platform ‘X’, “Amid persistent global headwinds, India continues to be the worldโ€™s standout economic engine. As per the latest IMF World Economic Outlook, India stays firmly ahead as the fastest-growing major economy with a projected 7.0% GDP growth for 2026 and 2027. Decisive policy leadership, structural reforms, and strong domestic momentum are powering Indiaโ€™s growth story.”
