LONDON/HOUSTON/SINGAPORE: The global solar tracker market expanded 19% in 2025, surpassing 134 Gigawatts Direct Current (GWdc) of equipment shipments, according to Wood Mackenzie’s ‘Global solar tracker market share 2026’.
Nextpower retained the top global position for the eleventh straight year amid a rebrand and a flurry of acquisitions throughout the year. Its core tracker business grew to nearly 40 GWdc of shipments globally, enough to capture 30% of the global market.
Gamechange Energy, Arctech Solar, Array Technologies, and Photovoltaic (PV) Hardware rounded out the top five in the global rankings — the same group as the previous two years.

GameChange Energy captured the second highest market share globally, boosted by top performances in India and in Africa, the fastest growing region for tracker demand. Arctech’s 2025 business was highlighted by its success in Saudi Arabia, which surpassed Spain as the third largest tracker market.
US domestic tracker demand rebounded by more than 25% from 2024, surpassing 40 GWdc of shipments for the first time. Nextpower was able to extend its market share above 50% in the US, widening the gap over second-ranked Array Technologies and GameChange. The three companies combined for nearly 90% of the entire US market.
“While global tracker demand continues to grow, the domestic market remains uniquely important to these top American vendors” said Joe Shangraw, Research Analyst at Wood Mackenzie. “Not only is the revenue-per-watt significantly higher than international averages, but the US is the epicenter for tracker innovation in this current era of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activity, smart software, and expanded product offerings. Success in the US is the best tool for global expansion.”
The European tracker market also flourished in 2025, reaching a new record shipment total of 25 GWdc. Axial captured the highest market share in Europe, leveraging its agri-PV tracker in Italy and other regions where EU-funding is being used to support dual land use projects with complex racking needs.
