New Delhi (Staff Correspondent): Sub-Inspector Geeta Samota, working in India’s Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), has made the country proud. She has become the first female worker to reach the top of Mount Everest (8,849 meters) in 56 years of CISF.
According to the CISF spokesperson, “Gita stood on the roof of the world” – this moment is not just his personal achievement, but a symbol of the CISF and the unforgettable strength and flexibility of the entire nation. “
Geeta Samota belongs to Chak village in Sikar district of Rajasthan. One of the five daughters of a traditional family, Geeta started her journey as a hockey player. He joined CISF (in 2011) and currently working in Udaipur Airport Unit after hockey was said to hurt. After joining the force, he came to know that the CISF does not have a mountaineering team, and this is where his adventure passion was directed.
Many records created before
Geeta conquered Mount Setopanth (7,075 m, Uttarakhand) and Mount Lobuche (6,119 meters, Nepal) in 2019 after taking special training in mountaineering. She then became the first woman of CAPF to climb Mount Setopanth.

Steps towards ‘seven peak challenge’
When a CAPF Everest campaign was canceled in 2021 due to technical reasons, Geeta targeted “Seven Summits Challenge” instead of giving up – which has to climb the highest peak of every continent.
She conquered four major peaks in just six months and 27 days in 2021-22:
– Mount Kosisko, Australia (2,228 m)
– Mount Albroce, Russia (5,642 m)
– Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania (5,895 m)
– Mount Ekonkagua, Argentina (6,961 m)
With this achievement, she became the fastest Indian woman to achieve this feat.
New history created in Ladakh too
The CISF spokesperson said that Geeta became the first woman to climb five peaks in the Roopshu region of Ladakh. Three of these peaks were above 6,000 meters and two above 5,000 meters. He completed this charisma in just three days. The CISF Director General and all the members of the force have congratulated Geeta for this unique achievement. “His visit is not only a mountaineering, but a source of inspiration for the youth of India, especially daughters,” said the spokesperson.
Role of cisf
CISF is a major paramilitary force of India, whose strength is about 2 lakh personnel. The force protects the country’s airports, nuclear plants, historical monuments and other important institutions. This achievement by Geeta Samota gives the real meaning of “Beti Padhao, Beti Bado”.
