Greater Noida (National Desk): An effort made by a Zomato delivery agent recently went viral on the social media platform LinkedIn, reminding the professional world of human spirit. It all started when a customer found a small, but deeply impactful handwritten note with his food order.
In this note, the delivery agent wrote, “I am a college student looking for a summer internship in marketing (not sales). Please contact me. 62617…..7 (WhatsApp only).”_
Also, adding a corner at the back of the paper, it was written, “Sorry for the terrible handwriting.”
Employee shared experience, post went viral
This small note was shared on LinkedIn by an employee of a technology company called Shopflo. In the post, he told that he found this letter when he ordered late at night. He wrote, “That handwritten note touched me. Amidst the hustle and bustle of delivery, this young man tried – simple, honest and full of hope.” The note not only sought an internship but also made it clear that they were looking for an opportunity in pure marketing and not sales. This clarity and focus impressed many professionals. “What better way to get ground-level marketing experience?” wrote a user.
‘Changed the definition of internship’ – People’s reactions
People’s reactions to the post were no less interesting. “Stories like these show how creative hustle can change everything,” wrote a user. Another comment praised the delivery agent’s effort, saying, “It is not easy to present yourself like this, especially when you take an ‘unconventional’ path.”
A user also described working with Zomato as a delivery partner as a real-world internship. He wrote, “They are already in the lab of branding, customer behaviour and local marketing at a big company like Zomato. This can be far more valuable than a corporate desk.” Today when internships and jobs are often based on LinkedIn profiles, resumes and referrals, this story reminds us that sometimes the biggest opportunities are hidden in the corner of a handwritten note. This Zomato delivery agent not only showed his willpower, but also proved that courage and creativity have no format.
If this post and note comes to the notice of a marketing professional, then maybe along with a delivery, a career will also be delivered!
