P Chidambaram said, “This issue has two sides. On one hand, there’s the inhumane treatment of deportees. Although they may have entered the US illegally, deportation must be carried out humanely. They cannot be chained and transported in a military aircraft.”
“On the other hand, why do Indians attempt to enter the US illegally? Why do they leave India? Apparently, they believe their situation in India would be worse. What is the Government of India doing to ensure that Indian youths are not forced to leave the country and enter another illegally?,” he added.
