New Delhi: The Aavriti Physics Association of the Department of Physics and Astrophysics at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), successfully hosted its inaugural function, TARANG-2026. The prestigious event was graced by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar as the Chief Guest, alongside Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Registrar Prof. Suneel Kumar, Head of the Department Prof. Ankush Vij, and Prof. Sunita Srivastava, President of the Aavriti Physics Association.
In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar blessed the students and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours. He emphasized that co-curricular activities like debates, quizzes, extempore, and cultural events are indispensable to a student’s holistic development. “Such platforms allow students to think beyond the classroom, build leadership and communication skills, and express their ideas with confidence,” Prof. Kumar stated.
Earlier, Prof. Ankush Vij welcomed the dignitaries, faculty, and students, presenting a comprehensive brief on the department’s academic and research achievements for the 2025–26 academic year. He noted that academic and cultural engagement fosters critical thinking, teamwork, and grassroots innovation.
Prof. Sunita Srivastava encouraged students to pursue excellence in both academic and extracurricular domains, describing the association’s events as vital opportunities for students to uncover hidden talents and collaborate effectively.
The inaugural ceremony featured vibrant cultural performances by the students. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Kapil, Vice-President of the Aavriti Physics Association. Faculty Coordinator Dr. Shweta Didel and the Cultural Committee team seamlessly drove the successful planning, execution, and overall management of the function. Other faculty members including Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Ramovatar, Dr. Rajni Bansal, Dr. Nitesh Dogra, Dr. Swati, Dr. Pramila, Dr. Suman, Dr. Bijender, and Dr. Sarjeet Kumar Sharma also participated marking the event a grand success.
