New Delhi (Business Desk): Wearing a Madhubani art print saree to present the Union Budget 2025, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman on Saturday announced many things for Bihar in the budget. The Janata Dal United (JDU) led government will go for assembly elections in November this year. JDU is also the most important ally in the central government.

JDU has welcomed this budget and said, “The Union Budget 2025-26 is a budget to fulfill the hopes of the people and empower the middle class. Making Rs 12 lakh annual income tax free is a historic step. This will provide great relief to the middle class.”

JDU further wrote on X, “At the same time, air services will be expanded to strengthen Bihar’s infrastructure, under which a Greenfield Airport will be established, a Brownfield Airport will be constructed in Bihta and Patna Airport will be expanded.”

“The capacity of Patna-based Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will be increased, which will increase the number of students and strengthen technical education. At the same time, the Western Koshi Canal Project in Mithila will benefit farmers cultivating more than 50 thousand hectares of land. Development will accelerate in the Mithila region,” JDU said.

“The formation of Makhana Board in the state will increase the production, processing and marketing of Makhana. Farmers will be able to get help and training.National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) will be established in Bihar. This will increase the income of farmers,” JDU added.

Nitish Kumar’s party also said, “This budget will definitely accelerate the development of Bihar and the entire country. This budget, which will provide more financial assistance to farmers through Kisan Credit Card to strengthen the rural economy and strengthen the urban infrastructure, will prove to be very helpful in the inclusive development of the country. This budget will not only fulfill the aspirations of the people, but will also fulfill the resolutions of a self-reliant and developed India.”
