New Delhi. Wedding ceremonies in India are a particularly joyous moment, but sometimes unexpected events can take away these joys. For Vicky and Pia, an Indian-origin couple who moved to India from Canada, their wedding day turned into a tragic accident. The couple suffered injuries to the bride due to a colour-bomb mistake during their wedding and also sent out an important message about the dangers of fireworks at weddings. Vicky and Pia shared a video of the incident on Instagram, which showed a tragic scene after a colour-bomb was fired incorrectly. The colour-bomb fired towards the bride and caused burns on her body. The incident happened when the groom was about to lift Pia for a photo. The video clearly showed burn marks on the bride’s back and scorched hair. The couple revealed in the Instagram post that the plan was to light these colour-bombs in the backdrop of the wedding as a beautiful visual, but it went completely wrong. “We had planned to light these beautiful colour-bombs in the background for a great shot, but it went wrong and fell on us,” they said. In the caption of the post, the couple also shared that they were also supposed to hold their baby during the incident.

Bride rushed to hospital

The bride needed immediate medical help after the accident and was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, Vicky and Pia managed to enjoy the night between the wedding and the reception despite the incident. “We still made it to the reception after getting treated for the burns and enjoyed the night,” the couple wrote in the Instagram story.

Accident despite safety precautions

The couple also revealed that they were following all the safety precautions, but the accident still happened. Their aim was to spread awareness about the dangers associated with colour-bombs. “This post is to share the dangers of colour-bomb fireworks at your events. We had taken all the safety measures, yet something went wrong and we got injured.”

Sympathy and support on social media

After the video was shared on Instagram, it garnered over 22 million views and many users expressed their sympathies for the bride. One user wrote, “This is scary and sad. Wishing you a speedy recovery. It’s definitely disappointing when such an accident happens on such a big and special day. Take care guys!” Another user added, “This is so sad! Get well soon.” Furthermore, some users also said that the event planners might be responsible for the incident, while others wished the couple love and good health.
