Sharing this news on X, British Journalist Tom Harwood writes, “Absolutely horrific news for iPhone users in the UK. Apple is removing its highest level data security tool from customers in the UK, after the government demanded access to user data.”
He further writes, “No UK customer data stored on iCloud will be end to end encrypted, making it all accessible by Apple, the Government, and – frankly – the most horrific hackers you can possibly imagine. Imagine the blackmail, extortion, and identity theft the government is now bringing on its own citizens. This is a move that Apple has never made before in any market.”
