Greater Noida (National Desk): An American couple living in India, Kristen and Tim Fischer, have added a new happy news to their family. The couple has adopted a two-year-old Indian girl with special needs, Nisha. Nisha has now become their fourth daughter. The adoption process was completed after a long wait of 17 months and an emotional journey, a glimpse of which Kristen Fischer shared through an emotional video on Instagram. Kristen wrote in her post, “We have been hiding this little secret for a while. I want to introduce Nisha, a happy two-year-old girl, who has now become a part of our forever family.” She told that this journey started in October 2023, when she applied for adoption. In September 2024, she was “matched” with Nisha and in April 2025, Nisha was legally adopted. Kristen described this day as the fulfillment of the dream of her life.

A baby girl who was worth every moment of waiting
Kristen emotionally said, “We have been dreaming of this day for so long. She is worth every moment of waiting.” The video clip she shared gives a glimpse of the happiness of the Fisher family and the welcome of Nisha. This video is going viral on social media and is inspiring people.
Nisha’s special story: ‘She is defined by a smile’
In another video, Kristen shared Nisha’s background, in which she told that Nisha was abandoned soon after birth and spent her first two years in an orphanage. Nisha was born with bilateral lower limb deformity, but Kristen says, “That is not what defines her. She is defined by her smile, her joy, her silliness and her sweet presence. She deserves the world, even if the world has been harsh with her so far.”
