New Delhi: A creative experiment in the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has taken social media by storm. India’s iconic brand mascots have been reimagined in hyper-realistic avatars by an Instagram creator using generative AI tools. The project has sent a wave of nostalgia across the internet, leaving millions emotional and thrilled.
The characters featured in the video include –
– The Amul girl, who now appears in a beautiful animated world with a cheese pyramid
– The Parle-G girl, who is smiling while sitting on a pile of biscuits
– The Air India Maharaja, whose traditional smile is now even more vibrant
– The Nirma girl, seen dancing in her signature polka dot dress
– Also included are Gattu (Asian Paints), Bholu (Indian Railways), Fido Dido (7UP) and Chester Cheetah (Cheetos)
The unique video showcased how AI is no longer just a technical aid, but an extension of creativity.
Nostalgia floods the internet
Users on social media described the project as a “chance to relive old memories in a modern way”. “The Parle-G girl looks so cute, and Gattu and the Nirma girl are amazing,” wrote one user. Another commented, “This video would bring tears to the eyes of the Nirma founder. It is a tribute to childhood memories.” A third user called the project “a great example of artistry in the AI era” and added that “it is not just a video, it is an emotion.”
But some ethical concerns were raised
However, not everyone’s response was positive. Some users raised concerns about ethics, especially with regard to the Nirma girl, who is reportedly based on the brand founder’s daughter. One user said, “The creative aspect of it is commendable, but when it is someone’s personal story, there should be limits to imagination. It may be a matter of personal emotions.”
Creativity vs privacy
This is the double edge of AI technology – it crosses boundaries and creates amazing experiences, but it also necessitates a debate on the ethics of its use. The creator explained that he created this project with respect and creativity, and is open to making videos with his auto-generated mascots if required in the future.
