New Delhi (Nilesh Tiwari), November 13: Former Indian cricket player Munaf Patel will join the Delhi Capitals as the bowling coach and will join the Hemang Badani-led coaching unit for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
Patel replaces James Hopes, who was earlier the bowling coach of the side. Munaf Patel has played 86 international matches for India and taken 125 international wickets. Munaf Patel was a part of India’s World Cup-winning squad in 2011 and also won the IPL twice, with the Rajasthan Royals 2008 and Mumbai Indians 2013.
Earlier this year, the team parted ways with long-time head coach Ricky Ponting, and the new coaching group of Rao and Badani were given the task of signing the remainder of their support staff.
