New Delhi: JAKSON Green E-Mobility has emerged as the winning bidder in a tender floated by CESL for the deployment of 220 electric buses in Gujarat under the Government of India’s flagship PM-eBus Sewa Programme. Securing this order within its first year of operations marks a significant milestone for the company as it expands its presence in India’s electric bus and commercial vehicle (CV) segment.
The project comprises the deployment of 120 electric buses in Vadodara, 80 buses in Gandhidham, and 20 buses in Navsari, supporting the development of cleaner, more sustainable public transport systems across the three cities.
Under the 12-year Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model, JAKSON Green E-Mobility will be responsible for the procurement, deployment, operation and maintenance of 9-metre air-conditioned electric buses. The scope of work also includes the development, operation and maintenance of the associated charging infrastructure, enabling an integrated ecosystem that supports reliable and efficient public transport services throughout the contract period.
Deepak Thakur, Chief Executive Officer, JAKSON Green E-Mobility, said, “Securing this 220-electric-bus order within our first year of e-mobility operations is an important milestone, reflecting our commitment to building a long-term presence in providing integrated ecosystem approach in electric vehicles for public and commercial transportation solutions. By integrating electric buses, charging infrastructure and fleet operations, we aim to deliver safe, reliable and efficient mobility solutions for the people of Vadodara, Gandhidham and Navsari. This project strengthens our contribution to India’s energy transition by extending it into everyday urban mobility.”
JAKSON Green E-Mobility is developing a comprehensive approach to electric bus and CV segment, covering fleet deployment, charging infrastructure, operations and lifecycle maintenance. The Gujarat project further advances this vision through a long-term service commitment focused on fleet availability, operational efficiency, passenger comfort and safety.
The deployment is expected to support the transition of the three cities towards cleaner urban mobility with zero tailpipe emissions, while contributing to the broader objectives of the PM-eBus Sewa Programme and India’s efforts to accelerate sustainable public transportation.
