RECPDCL Hands Over Ryapte Power Transmission Limited, a SPV of Inter State Transmission Project, to Ms The Tata Power Company Limited

New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power, handed over Ryapte Power Transmission Limited, the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to the successful bidder, M/s The Tata Power Company Limited, on 30 July 2026.

M/s The Tata Power Company Limited emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator, for development of intra-state transmission project of Karnataka viz. “Evacuation Scheme for 2000MW solar park at Ryapte Village, Tumkur District” on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The SPV was handed over by Smt. Monisha Barua, GM & HoD, RECPDCL to Mr. Tarun Katiyar, CEO & MD, TPTCL, in the presence of Managing Director, KPTCL and other senior officials from KPTCL, The Tata Power Company Limited and RECPDCL.

The transmission project broadly envisages 400/220 kV S/s at Ryapte in Tumkur District, 400/220 kV GIS S/s at Doddathaggalli (Near Hosakote), 400 kV Double Circuit line of around 207 km from Doddathaggalli to Ryapte & Kolar, 220 kV Double Circuit line of around 57 km from Doddathaggalli to Ekarajapura, Hosakote & Sarjapura along with other associated works. The project implementation schedule is 30 months at an estimated cost of Rs. 3200 crores.
