CUH Inaugurates 12th Short-Term Programme on MOOC Development

New Delhi: The Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, under the aegis of the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), inaugurated its 12th Short-Term Programme on “MOOC Development” on Tuesday. The six-day online programme, scheduled from June 23 to 30, 2026, has attracted 299 participants from over 100 universities across the country.

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar emphasized that such initiatives promote accessible, inclusive, and innovative digital education. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar highlighted the transformative role of MOOCs in expanding access to quality education and realizing the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Prof. Parmod Kumar noted that the programme would empower teachers to contribute effectively to the evolving online learning ecosystem. The inaugural session commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Parmod Kumar, Director, UGC-MMTTC, followed by an overview of the programme by Dr. Tejpal Dhewa, Programme Coordinator. Prof. Tanu Gupta, Deputy Director, UGC-MMTTC, introduced the Chief Guest, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, CUH.

During the programme, participants will receive training from eminent experts on various aspects of MOOC development, including AI-assisted e-content creation, video production, innovative course design, quality assurance, and future prospects of MOOCs in India. The programme integrates all four MOOC quadrants to provide both theoretical understanding and practical exposure. The programme is being coordinated by Dr. Tejpal Dhewa, Associate Professor, Department of Nutrition Biology, and Mr. Sankalp Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Teacher Education, CUH.
